I help those of all ages who have eating and body image difficulties. My training as an occupational therapist gives me a unique approach to eating disorder therapy, always seeing the person and their strengths before their diagnosis, as well as understanding our sensory systems and helping clients to regulate and manage sensory differences. I also practice as a psychotherapist, using talk therapy to help you become more aware of your thoughts and how they affect your emotions and behaviour. We delve into your core beliefs about yourself and food, and work to “debunk” the thinking that damages your relationship with food. For most people, balancing talk therapy with occupational therapy interventions (e.g. sensory modulation and practical strategies) is very effective. For helping clients with ARFID, I work in a parent coaching model if the client is a child, helping parents understand what to do and how to help their child.
