Hi, it’s nice to meet you! I’m Jayson Yung, a neurodiversity-affirming Registered Psychotherapist.
Diverse Minds Counselling & Psychotherapy was created as a place to support clients, as well as their loved ones, naviguate the challenges of a society that may not always understand, accept or support diversity in the way some think, feel, and interact with the world. With a background in working with neurodivergence (e.g., Autism and ADHD), I aim to foster a therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and understood.
In our sessions, I invite you to bring all parts of yourself—whether self-critical, people-pleasing, angry, doubting, perfectionistic, and those that are compassionate, curious, creative, playful or courageous. Know that there are no “bad” parts within us. Rather, there are parts that may have been misunderstood, wounded, or faced situations so challenging that they had to protect you in the only way they knew how. Together, we will explore, unburden, honour these parts and allow you to discover or reconnect with your Authentic Self.
Through a client-centred approach that is informed by, but is not limited to, Internal Family Systems (IFS)/Parts work therapy, Attachment-Based Psychotherapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I support clients with anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma, life transitions, identity, emotion regulation, executive functioning, sensory processing, self-acceptance, and relational dynamics (e.g., familial, romantic, friendship).
Reaching out for support is the first step on your mental health journey. If you feel that I may be a fit to accompany you on this part of your life path or if you have any questions, please contact me for a free 20-minute consultation. Looking forward to connecting with you!
